Hampton Inn & Suites Providence Downtown

Location was the most compelling reason to stay at this Hampton location. Its colonial lobby architecture is lovely, but the rooms are quite dim and it's hard to read. Breakfast was nice, including a refreshing fruit salad. Valet parking is $38. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within 2 miles, which I could walk, but doesn't help if you want to eat at a traditional Portuguese restaurant O Dinis, which is 3 miles east on a highway, so ended using Lyft and Uber. Staff is nice, but don't seem inclined to use some executive initiative to ease the experience when one is spending so much for a one night stay and the hotel is not close to capacity.

The staff and the complimentary shuttle around town!! Everyone we had an interaction with were friendly and went above and beyond to our stay comfortable. I chose the hotel because of the central location, guaranteed accessibility for my elderly mother and good value. First we were upgraded when our climate control systems wasn't working properly (and the engineer did give it a good effort!). Then the two shuttle drivers we had were so friendly and helpful with my elderly mom getting in and out of the van - and one even gave us a quick tour of "the Hill", which we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Even the man helping keep the morning breakfast in order made sure I had plenty of food and an extra tray to bring it up to my mother, who was a late riser. The team seemed to really be happy to work with each other and help the guest. The atmosphere they created for the guest really exceeded my expectations!

Location is fantastic in this very walkable, clean, friendly city. Breakfast room is large and beautifully decorated with a soaring ceiling and yellow and white Georgian style wall paintings. Breakfast offered hot entrée as well as the usual cold offerings were extremely quiet and my room was next to a linen closet and an ice machine. Never heard any noise. A free shuttle will take you to anywhere within 2 miles of the hotel. We used it twice, and the driver was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and timely. It cannot replace Uber, but was very helpful to us.

This was the perfect location, right in the middle of everything. This hotel also provides a shuttle if needed. The breakfast buffet was also really good. The staff was kind and very knowledgeable.

Courteous staff who helped us get a top floor room as we are light sleepers. The room came with a sound machine too! The staff also helped us when my daughter forgot her airpods and they quickly shipped them out to us.
